It was like 80 degrees in Chicago today so we walked over for ice cream after brunch and I had a scoop of "Fat Elvis". I like the idea of getting a text message when my favorite flavor comes in.

Andy Sidaris made some of the finest movies for 3am cable watching in the 80’s.

The Chicago Reader dips a toe into Apartment Therapy territory, and does a pretty fine job, with their Nest feature, showing off what a few Chicago renters did with their places. 

That’s a nice cover. I wonder if it’s any good. It’s kind of ridiculous that there has not been a really good spy movie featuring a woman. Miss Moneypenny needs her own film series.

Ballroom Marfa is pleased to announce the first-ever American drive-in theater produced by a non-profit cultural arts space. The Ballroom Drive-In is a unique collaboration between guest curators affiliated with the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), NY, an international architect and Ballroom Marfa. The premiere weekend will feature four to six full-feature film screenings preceded by live action and animated short
   films, newsreels, and trailers.

Tom sent me a nice Ballroom Drive-In t-shirt. It sounds neat. I miss drive-ins.

My new favorite term, "Emotional Bandwidth".

Michael Haneke, one of the most interesting living directors is doing a US remake of his own film, which is one of the most disturbing films I’ve ever seen, "Funny Games". Weird. If you have seen the original, you are probably scratching your head as well. Very Interesting. Via SC.

1. So the PBS station in Chicago is broadcasting the recent Doctor Who series starring the 9th version of the Doctor, Christopher Eccleston, tonight. Yet I never saw anything about this news. Poor nerds with no internet or cable.

2.Also, I saw "Hot Fuzz" and liked it a lot. I felt like I was in good nerd hands while watching it. I can’t help loving a movie that talks about the so bad it’s amazing to watch "Bad Boys 2". Also a Bill Bailey of Black Books cameo!
