The girl in the band is Charlyne Yi. You know, the awesome weird stoner girl in Knocked Up.

2 covers of Beyonce’s “Irreplaceable” on youtube you may enjoy

September 13, 2007 · No Comments

I hardly ever watch a music video from an actual band anymore. The ones on youtube with the people sitting in their bedrooms covering pop songs are so much better. I like the first video better. Not as polished as the second (she’s actually in a band that has a ton of other people covering her songs on youtube) but so charming.

Arrow Bicycles

September 13, 2007 · No Comments

Don posted a link in the comments about his latest bike obsession, Arrow Bikes, a Japanese company that makes some fine, crush-worthy bikes:

Arrow1

My, she’s yar…(to misquote the Philadelphia Story). I’d really like one of those also. Looking around the Japanese website, I noticed this attachment they sell:

Arrowrider
You attach it to the back of a bike and:

Arrow3

You can pick up girls! Or I guess give a friend a ride. It’s like a really old-school Segway scooter. That’s so simple and brilliant.

Thrifting

September 13, 2007 · No Comments

At lunch I popped into the Goodwill and walked out about 4 bucks lighter, with a James Kochalka book and a collection of short stories by Shirley Jackson. I usually never see graphic novels at a thrift store. Best thrift store finds in a long time.
