This pumpkin is hanging out at Harvest Time, the market on Lawrence Avenue. You darn kids are going to need a really big bat.

Tonight, walking to Tish’s, I found a cat on Kedzie, in Albany Park. I think she’s a she? Tiny, skinny, and ragged (needs a bath), she was hanging out at the curb and seemed like a house cat that got lost, not feral at all, and with all the traffic I couldn’t pass her by. Know anyone who has lost a cat? Pass this on, please, or email me. Looks like she had a tough time recently (so thin) and I’m sure will be really glad to see her folks. She’s friendly and her name for now is Albany. She’s hanging out in my living room right now so I hope this not some sort of scam/con she’s running with her friends.

In American Psycho by Brett Easton Ellis, anti-leading man Patrick Bateman goes over in minute detail the designer, material, cut and feel of nearly every character’s clothing in every scene. He describes at least 10 different “worsted wool suits” and dozens of pairs of Oliver People’s eyeglasses in between brutal killings and magnificent dinners.

With this on my mind early this morning I caught a glimpse of myself in the glass of the foyer. After writing my own clothing description down, I decide to ask all my Instant Messenger Friends to also compose descriptions of what they were currently wearing. What follows are their responses. I think as you read these blurbs you’ll find certain patterns emerge, and not just that a lot of us shop at Target, but other more subtle patterns.
